NFL Week 6 Special Teams Highlights
The Tennessee Titans executed a notable special teams play during their victory over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 6, successfully blocking a punt and returning it for a touchdown. This marked the second fully blocked punt of the NFL season, utilizing a strategic player movement across the long snapper's face just before the snap.
In Week 6, Mike Ford of the Atlanta Falcons and Decamerion Richardson of the New Orleans Saints were the only players to achieve multiple tackles as gunners, both maintaining a perfect tackle record. Richardson also excelled as a vise/jammer, contributing significantly to his team's performance.
Long snappers who excelled in Week 6 included three players who received PFF grades above 80.0, all of whom recorded tackles without any inaccurate snaps. Additionally, six players on kick coverage units achieved high grades by effectively making tackles and defeating blocks, while three players on kick return units also earned impressive grades above 90.0.
