NFLPA Demands Investigation into Jalen Hurts' Health Management
The NFL Players Association issued a statement on Tuesday night requesting a comprehensive investigation into the medical care of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.
An ultrasound on October 10 revealed a superficial blood clot in Hurts' calf, just before the Eagles' game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London, although he was cleared to participate in that match.
The NFLPA noted that it was not aware of any ongoing investigation by the NFL regarding Hurts' medical treatment, despite previous communications from the league indicating no plans to review the situation. Hurts, who is currently facing deep vein thrombosis and blood clots in his lungs, is likely out for the remainder of the season. The NFL has supported the Eagles' management of Hurts' health, with NFL chief medical officer Allen Sills dismissing concerns about player safety during a press conference.
