Nick Aldis Discusses Healing Time as WWE General Manager
Nick Aldis, the General Manager of WWE SmackDown and former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, made his WWE in-ring debut at SummerSlam after three years as a backstage producer. He began his on-screen role in October 2023 amidst speculation that WWE would not allow him to wrestle due to injuries.
Aldis clarified that he was not medically disqualified from wrestling but benefited from the time away from the ring. He noted that this period allowed him to address underlying health issues, particularly with his back, which had been a persistent problem. Aldis had to withdraw from a scheduled match due to severe back pain, which he initially feared was a bulging disc but was later diagnosed as an inflamed muscle.
After receiving appropriate medication and rest, Aldis found relief from the pain that had troubled him for years, marking a significant improvement in his condition.
