Nick Caserio Critiques NFL Players Returning to College Football
Nick Caserio, the General Manager of the Houston Texans, recently shared his thoughts on the increasing trend of NFL players returning to college football, labeling it as ridiculous. He emphasized that this situation does not significantly impact the NFL's operations, particularly regarding training camps.
Caserio explained that if players choose to return to college, they will be evaluated through the college lens, similar to how they would be assessed during the draft process. He noted that the Texans have not been affected by any players falling under a restraining order related to this issue.
The ongoing situation in college sports stems from a system that has historically denied players compensation, leading to current challenges. As the NFL continues its operations, players who return to college will not be eligible to sign with NFL teams during the 2026 season.
