Nick Chubb Retires After Eight NFL Seasons
Nick Chubb, a four-time Pro Bowl running back, announced his retirement from professional football on Instagram after eight seasons in the NFL. The 30-year-old player began his career with the Cleveland Browns after being selected 35th overall in the 2018 NFL Draft from the University of Georgia.
Chubb achieved four consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons from 2019 to 2022, culminating in a career-high 1,525 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns in 2022, which earned him second-team All-Pro honors. However, injuries plagued his later seasons, including a severe knee injury in 2023 that led to multiple surgeries and a foot fracture in 2024. He struggled with performance in 2025 while playing for the Houston Texans, rushing for only 506 yards.
In his retirement announcement, Chubb reflected on his journey and the promises he made to himself, expressing a desire to end his career on a positive note. He noted that while he had aspirations to lead the league in rushing and win a Super Bowl, he found peace in knowing he gave his all during his career.
