Nico Gonzalez Joins Newcastle from Man City for £50m

Nico Gonzalez has transferred to Newcastle United from Manchester City in a deal that may total £50m after add-ons. The 24-year-old midfielder is the seventh signing for Newcastle this summer.

Gonzalez, who joined Man City from Porto in February 2025, made 59 appearances for the club, scoring four goals. He was presented to Newcastle fans ahead of their Carabao Cup match against West Brom after completing a medical.

Newcastle's sporting director, Ross Wilson, noted that Gonzalez was their primary target, especially after the departures of Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali. Wilson expressed satisfaction with the transfer, highlighting Gonzalez's extensive experience in top clubs like Barcelona, Porto, and Manchester City.
