Niels Koolen Joins Abel Motorsports for 2027 Indy NXT Season

Niels Koolen, a 25-year-old Dutch racer, has signed with Abel Motorsports for the upcoming 2027 Indy NXT season after two years with Chip Ganassi Racing.

His preparations will kick off at the Chris Griffis Memorial test at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on October 16, followed by a session at Barber Motorsports Park on November 9. Koolen achieved two top-five finishes last season, with a best result of fourth at World Wide Technology Raceway.

In addition to his testing in the U.S., Koolen will participate in the Asian Le Mans Series during the winter, competing in the LMP2 category across various European events to enhance his driving experience ahead of the new season.
