Nigel McGuinness Withdrawn from ROH Death Before Dishonor Title Match
Nigel McGuinness, a star in AEW, has reportedly been withdrawn from his championship match at ROH Death Before Dishonor, scheduled for Friday at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia. This decision comes as McGuinness is currently involved in an injury storyline while competing in the Continental Challenge Cup.
Initially set to challenge Lee Moriarty for the Ring of Honor Pure Championship, McGuinness will no longer participate in the event. His replacement opponent will be either Katsuyori Shibata or Wheeler Yuta. The reason for McGuinness's withdrawal has not been confirmed.
McGuinness sustained an ankle injury during his first-round match against Shibata on August 12, although it was reported as a worked injury. Despite this, he continued to compete, defeating Hechicero in a quarter-final match on AEW Dynamite. His last appearance in ROH was a victory over Josh Woods in May.
