Nigel McGuinness Withdraws from ROH Death Before Dishonor, Katsuyori Shibata Steps In
Nigel McGuinness has been withdrawn from the upcoming ROH Death Before Dishonor event after defeating Hechicero on AEW Dynamite to progress in the Continental Challenge Cup tournament.
Initially scheduled to face Lee Moriarty for the Pure Championship, McGuinness is sidelined due to a foot injury sustained during the match narrative on Wednesday. Katsuyori Shibata will now compete for the title he previously held for 239 days, marking their third encounter, with Shibata currently leading their series 2-0.
Additionally, the ROH Women’s TV title will be defended in a four-way match featuring Red Velvet, Zayda Steel, Marina Shafir, and Skye Blue. The ROH Tag Team Champions Mistico & Mascara Dorada will also defend their titles against The Kingdom, LFI, and Top Flight in another four-way match. The event will take place this Friday in Philadelphia.
