NJPW Announces Title Matches for Destruction in Kobe
NJPW has announced several matches for its upcoming Destruction in Kobe event, scheduled for September 27 at Kobe World Hall, following the conclusion of the G1 Climax.
Ryohei Oiwa, the G1 winner, is set to challenge Yota Tsuji for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at King of Pro Wrestling 2026 in October, but Tsuji will first defend his title against Hirooki Goto at the Kobe event. Goto previously defeated Tsuji during the G1 block action and aims for his second IWGP Championship reign.
Additionally, Gabe Kidd will defend the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship against Drilla Moloney, while Shun Skywalker will challenge Konosuke Takeshita for the NJPW World Television Championship. Jeff Cobb will also face Callum Newman in a grudge match. The event will be broadcast live on NJPW World with English commentary.
