North Melbourne Decides Against Nominating Sam Harris for Father-Son Draft

North Melbourne has announced that it will not nominate Sam Harris as a father-son candidate for the 2026 AFL Draft.

Harris, who has played one game in the VFL and has been involved with the club at Arden Street this year, will enter the open pool for all teams. He is the son of former Kangaroos player Daniel Harris, who had a notable career with 149 games for the club.

This decision follows Aidan McCartney's nomination as a father-son prospect for the Kangaroos. McCartney, son of Jason McCartney, missed the 2026 season due to injury but is considered a potential key-position player for the upcoming National Draft.
