North Melbourne Proposes Trade for Sydney Swans' Nick Blakey
North Melbourne has proposed a trade to acquire Nick Blakey from the Sydney Swans, offering Pick 6 along with another selection in the 30s in exchange for Blakey and a pick in the 50s.
Blakey is interested in joining the Kangaroos, who have presented him with an eight-year contract valued at over $11 million, significantly higher than his current deal with the Swans. Despite not having a selection in the 30s, North Melbourne is pursuing this trade.
Additionally, the Kangaroos are negotiating with Melbourne regarding a trade for Zane Duursma, with the Demons proposing Pick 33. They are also in discussions with Hawthorn about acquiring Josh Goater, which may also yield a selection in the 30s. Blakey's interest in North Melbourne is partly influenced by his father's legacy, as John Blakey was a two-time premiership player for the club.
