North Melbourne Sets New Betting Record for AFLW Premiership Odds
North Melbourne, the reigning AFLW champions, has been established as the shortest premiership favorite in the last 25 years for both the AFL and AFLW, with TAB setting their odds at $2 to secure a third consecutive title before the season starts.
This new record surpasses the previous benchmark held by the Geelong Cats, who had odds of $3.20 following their significant 119-point Grand Final victory over Port Adelaide in 2008.
According to TAB's senior trader Bart Kennett, this even-money figure for North Melbourne marks the lowest price recorded for an AFL or AFLW premiership prior to the season's commencement. The Kangaroos have not lost a match since their defeat to the Brisbane Lions in the 2023 Grand Final and have completed undefeated seasons in 2024 and 2025, aside from a draw against Geelong. Their upcoming season begins on August 9th against the Geelong Cats at Marvel Stadium.
