Northampton's Champions Cup Match Disrupted by Hoax Security Incident

During a Champions Cup match on Sunday, Northampton defeated Cardiff 28-12, but a reported security incident at Franklin's Gardens is thought to be a hoax.

Police responded to threats made on social media around 19:00 BST, shortly after the game concluded at 17:30. As a safety measure, players from both teams left the field immediately following the final whistle.

Northamptonshire Police confirmed that investigations are ongoing, collaborating with the Saints organization. Northampton expressed regret that fans could not see the players post-match, emphasizing their commitment to safety for all attendees.
