Nottingham Forest Secures £50m Deal for Chelsea Striker Liam Delap
Nottingham Forest has finalized a deal worth around £50m to acquire Chelsea striker Liam Delap. The 23-year-old is anticipated to undergo a medical examination and sign a long-term contract at the City Ground this week.
Delap's transfer follows his previous move to Chelsea from Ipswich Town for £30m, a year ago, amid interest from Manchester United and Everton. His time at Chelsea was marred by injuries, resulting in only one Premier League goal last season.
This signing adds to Nottingham Forest's recent acquisitions, including defender Ousmane Diomande for £34m and free agents Xaver Schlager and Steve Benda. The club has also sold midfielder Elliot Anderson to Manchester City for a record £116m and striker Taiwo Awoniyi to Coventry City for £9m.
