Nottingham Forest Signs Ousmane Diomande from Sporting for £34.3m

Nottingham Forest has officially signed Ousmane Diomande, a 22-year-old centre-back from Sporting, for a fee of approximately £34.3m (€40m) on a four-year contract.

Diomande's transfer follows weeks of negotiations, with Forest's head coach Oliver Glasner playing a key role in the pursuit after previously attempting to sign him while at Crystal Palace. The defender has spent the last four seasons at Sporting, where he made 132 appearances, scored seven goals, and won the Primeira Liga twice.

During his time at Sporting, Diomande contributed to the team's success in reaching the Champions League knockout stages and winning a domestic double in the 2024/25 season. He was also part of the Ivory Coast squad that won the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. Diomande has earned 15 caps for his national team and participated in the recent World Cup.
