Nottinghamshire Dominates Leicestershire in County Championship

Nottinghamshire secured a strong position against Leicestershire in the Rothesay County Championship at Trent Bridge, thanks to impressive centuries from Jack Haynes and Liam Patterson-White on day two.

Nottinghamshire declared at 451-8, with Haynes scoring a career-best 159 and Patterson-White remaining unbeaten on 111. Their partnership of 257 for the sixth wicket broke a 101-year-old record for this fixture. Leicestershire, in response, ended the day at 23-2 after losing both openers to Dillon Pennington.

Nottinghamshire, defending champions, began the day at 42-0 but quickly lost their first two wickets. Despite early setbacks, they advanced from 143-5 to 293-5 by tea, ultimately adding another 158 runs. Haynes's century was his third of the season, while Patterson-White's performance marked his third first-class hundred.
