Nottinghamshire Loses Wicketkeeper Kyle Verreynne for Final Matches
Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club will not have wicketkeeper Kyle Verreynne available for their final three Championship matches this season, as he has been called up by South Africa.
The 29-year-old player, who has scored 368 runs and made 32 catches along with a stumping in 10 appearances this summer, is set to return home for a Test series against Australia starting on October 9, following three one-day internationals.
Despite having signed to play the entire Championship season, Verreynne's central contract with Cricket South Africa takes precedence. Nottinghamshire, currently in second place in the league, will miss him in matches against Hampshire, Sussex, and Yorkshire. The club's director of cricket acknowledged the situation while expressing hope for a replacement soon.
