NSAC Fines Holloway, Pimblett, and Steveson for Cage Hopping
The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) has imposed fines on fighters Max Holloway, Paddy Pimblett, and Gable Steveson for jumping over the cage to celebrate their victories at UFC 329. The disciplinary hearing took place on Saturday, resulting in each fighter receiving a $2,500 fine.
NSAC chairman Dallas Haun emphasized the importance of safety for fans and guests, recalling the chaos that ensued after the Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Conor McGregor fight at UFC 229. He noted that while the fighters' celebrations were appreciated, such actions could lead to dangerous situations.
Despite the relatively small fines, Haun warned that future violations could result in harsher penalties. Former UFC champion Daniel Cormier criticized the NSAC's stance, arguing that fighters should be allowed to celebrate their victories without fear of punishment, as long as they do not endanger others.
