NSN Development Team Withdraws from Volta a Portugal After Cyclist's Death

The NSN Development Team has officially withdrawn from the remaining stages of the Volta a Portugal after the tragic death of cyclist Finlay Tarling, who was involved in an accident during the eighth stage of the race.

The 19-year-old cyclist died following a collision with a light goods vehicle on a 166.8km route from Melgaco to Fafe. The race organizers confirmed that the event would continue with the penultimate stage on Saturday, while tributes for Tarling would be held prior to the start.

In a statement, the Volta a Portugal expressed deep sorrow over the incident, stating it was a tragic day for cycling. The main sponsors of the event have decided to cancel all activities for the remaining stages as a sign of respect. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident is currently underway.
