Nunzio Shares Experience as WWE Referee During 2010 Blizzard

Former WWE wrestler Nunzio discussed his brief tenure as a referee during a December 2010 blizzard on the Insight Podcast. He was called to officiate matches at Madison Square Garden when several referees were unable to attend due to the severe weather.

Tommy Dreamer contacted Nunzio in the afternoon, asking if he could make it to the venue. Despite the challenging conditions, he managed to arrive and was the only referee present that night. Notably, Vince McMahon was also in attendance, which was unusual for house shows.

After the event, Nunzio received a call from Johnny Ace, who inquired about his experience and the audience's reaction. Following this, he was offered a three-week trial as a referee, which led to a one-year contract with WWE. Although he appreciated the role, he sometimes felt uneasy in the position.
