NXT Heatwave to Feature Two Title Matches
The upcoming NXT Heatwave event will feature two title matches, including a highly anticipated challenge for the NXT Women’s Championship by Kelani Jordan. This development follows a segment on Tuesday where Jordan interrupted Kali Armstrong, who was advocating for her own title shot.
Kendal Grey, who is recovering from an injury sustained in a previous match, announced that she had spoken with GM Robert Stone. She expressed her frustration with Jordan's complaints about not receiving a title opportunity and agreed to defend her championship at a date chosen by Jordan, who selected Heatwave on August 30.
Additionally, a North American title match between Zaria and Wren Sinclair was disrupted by a brawl involving Saquon Shugars and Dion Lennox, allowing Zaria to secure a pinfall victory over Sinclair. Despite initial skepticism, Robert Stone consented to a unification match for the women’s Speed title and the Women’s North American title after Sinclair proposed the idea. The main event match, intended to determine Tony D’Angelo’s challenger for Heatwave, was rendered void due to Zilla Fatu's debut attack on both competitors.
