OG Anunoby Discusses NBA Europe's Impact on UK Basketball

OG Anunoby, a player for the New York Knicks, has announced his investment in the redevelopment of a grassroots basketball court in Camden, collaborating with City Hall, the National Basketball Players' Association, and Camden Council.

The NBA is set to launch a new European league, tentatively named NBA Europe, in October 2027, featuring 12 to 16 teams, including expected franchises from London and Manchester. The deadline for franchise bids was in June, with the NBA receiving offers ranging from $500 million to $1 billion for each host city.

Anunoby, a prominent UK player in the NBA, expressed enthusiasm about the league, noting the growth of basketball in London and Manchester. Laura Pinnell, the NBA's vice-president for Europe and the Middle East, confirmed that planning for the league is progressing well, emphasizing the UK as a significant opportunity for the project. Anunoby is also focused on helping the Knicks secure another championship next season.
