Ohio State Buckeyes Ranked No. 1 in Preseason AP Poll
The Ohio State Buckeyes are set to begin the new college football season as the top-ranked team in the preseason Associated Press Top 25, having also secured the No. 1 spot in the Coaches Poll. This ranking comes with high expectations and pressure as they prepare for the upcoming games.
Ohio State garnered 40 first-place votes, placing them ahead of teams such as Oregon, Georgia, Notre Dame, and Texas. The top ten also includes Indiana at No. 6, Miami at No. 7, Texas A&M at No. 8, Ole Miss at No. 9, and Oklahoma at No. 10.
Despite their ranking, head coach Ryan Day faces challenges as the team needs to replace key defensive players like Arvell Reese, Caleb Downs, and Sonny Styles. Additionally, with Arthur Smith stepping in as the new offensive coordinator, the Buckeyes will need to adapt to changes on both sides of the ball. However, returning players such as Julian Sayin, Bo Jackson, and Jeremiah Smith provide a solid foundation as Ohio State aims to maintain its status at the top.
