He mentioned that while Andersen may require more time to recover, Savoie is expected to miss less time than initially feared. The absence of these players, along with Mattias Janmark, who is also sidelined, opens opportunities for other team members to step up.

Bowman indicated that the team will explore internal replacements, highlighting players like Ike Howard and Josh Samanski. With a new coaching staff led by Mike Babcock, the Oilers are looking to refresh their approach this season, aiming for a positive start despite the current challenges.
