Oilers' Mattias Ekholm Leaves Game Against Hurricanes After Collision

Mattias Ekholm of the Edmonton Oilers left Thursday's game against the Carolina Hurricanes early in the third period due to a collision with William Carrier.

During the play, Carrier delivered a significant hit as Ekholm was handling the puck, causing him to fall and seemingly hit his head on the ice. After remaining on his knees for medical attention, Ekholm managed to stand but appeared unsteady and required help from teammates to exit the rink.

The Oilers quickly announced that Ekholm would not return for the remainder of the game. Prior to the incident, he had recorded one goal and two assists in nine games this season.
