O.J. Brigance, Former Patriots Linebacker, Passes Away at 56
O.J. Brigance, a former linebacker who briefly played for the New England Patriots in 2002, has passed away at the age of 56 after living nearly two decades with ALS.
Brigance, who had a notable career including a Grey Cup with the Baltimore Stallions and a Super Bowl victory with the Ravens, joined the Patriots as a special-teams veteran. He played one regular-season game wearing No. 59 before returning to the St. Louis Rams.
After his retirement, Brigance was diagnosed with ALS in 2007 but continued to inspire others through his work with the Ravens and the Brigance Brigade Foundation, which he co-founded with his wife to support those facing the same illness. His legacy is remembered by Patriots fans as a testament to resilience and courage.
