O.J. Brigance, Super Bowl Champion and ALS Advocate, Passes Away at 56
O.J. Brigance, who achieved Super Bowl glory with the Baltimore Ravens, has passed away at the age of 56. His death was announced by the Ravens on Monday.
Brigance was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in 2007 and, alongside his wife Chanda, established the Brigance Brigade Foundation to support those affected by the disease. Despite his condition, he continued to work as a senior adviser for player engagement with the Ravens, a role he had held since 2004.
Brigance's football career included playing for the British Columbia Lions and the Baltimore Stallions before joining the NFL. He was part of the Ravens' Super Bowl-winning team in 2000. His contributions to the sport and his advocacy for ALS awareness have left a lasting impact.
