Oklahoma State Defeats No. 6 Oregon, Ending 21-Game FBS Skid

Oklahoma State University secured a 39-31 victory against No. 6 Oregon on Saturday in Stillwater, marking the end of a 21-game losing streak against FBS opponents. Drew Mestemaker led the Cowboys with 317 passing yards, two touchdowns, and 109 rushing yards.

This win is particularly notable as it comes after a challenging previous season where Oklahoma State finished with a 1-11 record, resulting in the departure of longtime coach Mike Gundy. The Cowboys had also lost their season opener against Tulsa.

Oregon, which was favored by 23.5 points, suffered a setback in their national title aspirations. Despite a strong performance from their quarterback Dante Moore, who threw two touchdown passes in the second half, the Ducks were outgained by Oklahoma State, which amassed 554 total yards compared to Oregon's 281. The Cowboys will next face Murray State at home.
