Olamide Zaccheaus Named Emergency QB for Falcons

Cooper Rush is expected to start in place of Tua Tagovailoa, who is sidelined with an oblique injury. Michael Penix is also inactive as he recovers from a torn ACL, leaving undrafted rookie Jack Strand as Rush's backup. The situation has become more precarious as Rush experienced back spasms on Saturday, prompting the need for an additional emergency option.

Zaccheaus, who has not thrown a pass in the NFL but has nine rushing attempts, will also serve as the third running back behind Bijan Robinson and Brian Robinson. His involvement in either position could indicate difficulties for the Falcons as they aim for a successful season opener.
