Oliver Bearman Discusses Limitations of Haas' 2026 F1 Car
Following the United States Grand Prix, Oliver Bearman expressed concerns about the Haas VF-26 Formula 1 car, stating that it has reached its performance ceiling due to a significant lack of downforce.
During the race weekend at the Circuit of The Americas, Bearman achieved encouraging results in the early practice sessions but ultimately qualified in 16th place. He noted that while the car felt good and had a consistent setup, it could not keep pace with competitors who had introduced multiple upgrades.
Bearman emphasized that despite the car's predictable handling characteristics, the absence of downforce hindered performance, particularly as the race progressed. His teammate, Esteban Ocon, reported issues with braking consistency, which contributed to a disappointing 14th place finish, further illustrating the challenges faced by the team.
