Ollie Watkins Transfers to Al Hilal from Aston Villa
Ollie Watkins has finalized a £50m transfer from Aston Villa to Al Hilal, marking the end of his six-year career at Villa Park. During his time with the club, he became the first player in the modern era to score over 100 goals, netting a total of 108 in 278 matches across all competitions.
Watkins' last appearance for Aston Villa was in May, where he contributed to a 3-0 victory over Freiburg in the Europa League final, securing the club's first European trophy in 44 years. Following his departure, Aston Villa has signed former Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson as his replacement for a club-record fee that could reach £65m.
Additionally, Aston Villa has reached an agreement with Southampton for defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis, involving a £30m deal that includes a guaranteed fee of £25m plus £5m in potential add-ons. Harwood-Bellis, who has made 134 appearances for Southampton, is expected to fill the gap left by Ezri Konsa's transfer to Arsenal earlier this summer.
