O'Malley emphasized Song's size, explosiveness, and strong takedown defense as significant advantages that could challenge Dvalishvili, who recently faced champion Petr Yan. He noted that Song's attributes might create similar difficulties for Dvalishvili while also posing a greater offensive threat.

Song Yadong secured a title contention spot earlier this year with a knockout win over Umar Nurmagomedov at UFC Shanghai. A matchup between Song and Dvalishvili could determine who is next in line for a title shot after O'Malley.
