Orioles Designate Cameron Weston and Nick Raquet for Assignment

The Baltimore Orioles announced multiple roster changes on Tuesday, including the designation of pitchers Cameron Weston and Nick Raquet for assignment before their game against the Rockies.

In addition to the designations, the Orioles selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Albert Suárez and added lefty Luis De León to the 40-man roster. Cade Povich was optioned to create a big-league spot for De León, while Christian Franklin was placed on the 10-day injured list, allowing Heston Kjerstad to join the team. Luis Robert Jr. was also activated after being claimed off waivers from the Mets.

Cameron Weston made his major league debut in late May, pitching a scoreless inning against the Blue Jays and recording his first strikeout. However, he has had a challenging season in the minors, with a 7.89 ERA over 51 1/3 innings. Nick Raquet, who was acquired from the Cardinals, had limited success with the Orioles, allowing three earned runs in 3 2/3 innings across four appearances. The Orioles have faced difficulties in finding effective left-handed relief options this season.
