Orioles Re-Sign Albert Suárez to Minor League Contract
The Baltimore Orioles have re-signed right-handed pitcher Albert Suárez to a minor league contract, as reported by Andy Kostka of The Baltimore Banner. Suárez is set to join Triple-A Norfolk.
Earlier this week, Suárez elected free agency following his latest designation for assignment. The 36-year-old has had a fluctuating presence on the major league roster this season, having appeared in 25 games and pitched 55 innings with an earned run average just below 4.00.
This marks Suárez's third season with the Orioles. He was a regular in the rotation for most of 2024, achieving a 3.70 ERA over 133 2/3 innings. After injuries limited his play in 2025, he was dropped from the roster but re-signed to a minor league deal. Although he has made two starts for Norfolk this season, he has not pitched more than two innings in an MLB game since early July.
