Ottawa Senators Defeat New Jersey Devils 4-1
The Ottawa Senators achieved a 4-1 victory against the New Jersey Devils on Monday night in Newark, New Jersey, continuing their strong performance this season.
Tim Stützle recorded a goal and an assist, while Shane Pinto and Stephen Halliday also scored for the Senators. Linus Ullmark made 29 saves, allowing only one goal to Arseny Gritsyuk late in the game. Despite injuries to key players, including defenceman Nikolas Matinpalo, who left the game with an upper-body injury, the Senators have won five of their first six games.
Pinto opened the scoring just nine seconds into the second period, followed by Halliday's power-play goal later in the period. The Devils struggled to find their rhythm, falling to a record of 2-3-0 as they work to integrate new players into their lineup. The Senators will host the St. Louis Blues next, while the Devils are set to visit the Detroit Red Wings.
