Over 160 Tyres Illegally Dumped in Anfield Alley
In Anfield, Liverpool, over 160 tyres were illegally dumped in an alley behind residential homes on Saturday afternoon. Witnesses reported seeing men unloading the tyres from a white van in the Coppice area.
Liverpool City Council's environmental enforcement team has initiated an investigation following the incident, which was highlighted by Councillor Steve Radford. He emphasized the significant fire risk posed by the tyres and expressed a desire for the offenders to be apprehended and prosecuted.
The council swiftly removed the tyres within 24 hours, and photographs of the suspects have been submitted to aid the investigation. The council has stated that fly-tipping is unacceptable and will take appropriate action against those responsible, with potential penalties for such offenses increasing as part of a government crackdown.
