Over 200 NFL Players Express Interest in 2028 Olympics Flag Football
More than 200 NFL players have shown interest in competing in the flag football event at the 2028 Olympics, according to Brian Flinn, the NFL's Senior Vice President of Global Flag Football. However, the league has set a limit of one player per team, resulting in a maximum of 32 players eligible to participate.
The flag football tournament will feature six countries, and NFL players may represent nations other than the United States if those countries qualify. The challenge for the U.S. team will be to balance the inclusion of career flag-football players with NFL athletes, who will need to dedicate time for training and qualification.
USA Football plans to reveal the selection process for the U.S. team by the end of 2026.
