Pablo Lopez Progressing Well After Elbow Surgery
Pablo Lopez, a right-handed pitcher for the Minnesota Twins, is recovering from an elbow procedure he underwent in February. He resumed playing catch in August and aims to be ready for Spring Training, making it possible for him to be included in the Opening Day roster.
Lopez underwent an internal brace procedure rather than full Tommy John surgery, which typically allows for a quicker recovery. His rehabilitation is expected to last around 12 months, aligning with his goal to participate in spring activities.
This injury is Lopez's second experience with Tommy John surgery, the first occurring in 2013 while he was in the Seattle Mariners' minor league system. The Twins have faced challenges this offseason, including changes in ownership and management, alongside Lopez's injury. The pitching staff had mixed results in 2026, and Lopez's return could strengthen the rotation as they prepare for the upcoming season.
