Packers Acquire Arden Walker from Vikings to Strengthen Edge Defense
The Green Bay Packers have added undrafted rookie Arden Walker to their roster after claiming him off waivers from the Minnesota Vikings. This move aims to improve their edge defender depth, which has been impacted by injuries during training camp.
Walker, who went undrafted following a five-year college career at Missouri and Colorado, recorded 4.5 sacks in his final season and finished with a total of 14 sacks. He initially signed with the Vikings and participated in their preseason opener against the New York Giants, where he played 17 defensive snaps and received a 69.9 defensive grade from PFF.
With Micah Parsons on the physically unable to perform list and other players dealing with injuries, the Packers' decision to bring in Walker is seen as a strategic addition. He will compete for a practice squad position as the team continues through training camp and the preseason.
