Packers Acquire Tight End Mark Redman in Trade with Rams

The Green Bay Packers have made a significant addition to their roster by acquiring tight end Mark Redman from the Los Angeles Rams just before the final roster cuts.

This trade marks the third transaction for the Packers on a busy Sunday, following the trade of quarterback Kyle McCord to the Miami Dolphins and the acquisition of running back Kaleb Johnson from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Redman, a 24-year-old tight end, went undrafted in 2025 and spent his rookie year on the Rams' practice squad, where he impressed during the preseason.

In three preseason games, Redman caught all six of his targets for 63 yards and demonstrated strong blocking skills with a 75.7 pass block grade. His versatility as a blocker complements the receiving capabilities of veteran Jonnu Smith, whom the Packers also added recently. The Rams opted to trade Redman due to their depth at the tight end position, making him available as the Packers seek to bolster their lineup, especially with Luke Musgrave expected to miss the start of the season.
