Packers Add Mekhi Becton to Roster, Place Jacob Monk on Injured Reserve
The Green Bay Packers have made roster changes following injuries sustained by offensive linemen in their recent game against the Detroit Lions. On Monday, the team placed Jacob Monk on injured reserve due to a quad injury he suffered while replacing starting center Sean Rhyan in the first quarter.
Monk will be sidelined for at least four games as a result of this move. To fill his spot on the roster, the Packers signed veteran guard Mekhi Becton from their practice squad. Becton joined the team late last month after previously starting 14 games for the Chargers in 2025 and contributing to the Eagles' Super Bowl victory in 2024.
Sean Rhyan is also dealing with a high-ankle sprain, which may lead to him being placed on injured reserve as well. John Williams took over the center position for the remainder of the game against the Lions.
