Packers CB Keisean Nixon Competes for Starting Position
Keisean Nixon, a cornerback for the Green Bay Packers and former Pro Bowler, is currently competing for a starting position as the team prepares for the upcoming season.
Nixon, who has been with the Packers since going undrafted in 2019, expressed his focus on personal performance rather than the competition itself. Coach Matt LaFleur emphasized the importance of assignment execution and tackling ability in the selection process for starters. Nixon has been listed as the starter on the unofficial preseason depth chart, with Benjamin St-Juste as his backup.
In the preseason opener against Pittsburgh, Nixon played 19 snaps. He is entering the final year of a three-year, $18 million contract, with a salary of $2.66 million for the season.
