Packers Coach Matt LaFleur Highlights Need for Improved Running Game
The Green Bay Packers secured their third consecutive win on Sunday night, defeating the Dallas Cowboys 23-13 at Lambeau Field. Despite the victory, coach Matt LaFleur noted the team's need for improvement in their running game as running back Josh Jacobs approaches a return.
In the game, quarterback Jordan Love completed 23 of 41 passes for 276 yards, including a touchdown pass to Matthew Golden and a rushing score. The Packers' defense intercepted Dak Prescott twice, limiting the Cowboys to just 13 points. However, the Packers struggled on the ground, managing only 57 yards on 26 carries against a Dallas defense ranked last in the NFL for run defense.
LaFleur pointed out that Jacobs, who has been on the commissioner’s exempt list since August 30, could provide a much-needed boost to the running game. Jacobs is eligible to return next week against the Detroit Lions after missing all six games this season. LaFleur emphasized the importance of establishing a more consistent run game to alleviate pressure on Love and enhance the overall offense.
