Packers Release Brenden Rice and Sign Kaden Prather

The Green Bay Packers have released wide receiver Brenden Rice from their Non-Football Injury list and signed Kaden Prather as a replacement.

<p>The Green Bay Packers have made roster changes by releasing wide receiver Brenden Rice from their Non-Football Injury list and signing Kaden Prather in his place.</p><p>Rice, 24, was placed on the NFI list earlier this week. He is the son of Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice and was a seventh-round pick by the Chargers in 2024. After a brief stint with the Chargers, where he did not record any stats in three games, Rice had multiple practice squad assignments with teams including New England and Seattle before being claimed by the Packers.</p><p>Kaden Prather, 23, began his college career at West Virginia and later transferred to Maryland, where he was a three-year starter. He was selected by the Bills in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL draft but was waived due to an injury settlement. Prather then played for the Louisville Kings in the UFL and recorded 162 receptions for 1,966 yards and 12 touchdowns during his college career.</p>
