Packers Tight End Tucker Kraft Activated from PUP List
Tucker Kraft, the Green Bay Packers' tight end, has been activated from the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list just before the team's third practice of training camp. Kraft's return follows a serious ACL injury sustained during a game against the Carolina Panthers last season.
Before his injury, Kraft had impressive statistics, including 32 receptions for 489 yards and six touchdowns, indicating he was on track for a breakout season. Although he has been activated, head coach Matt LaFleur noted that Kraft will not participate in team drills immediately but will engage in individual activities and walk-throughs to ease back into practice.
Kraft aims to be ready for the season opener against the Minnesota Vikings, and his activation keeps him on schedule for that goal. The Packers are reportedly discussing a contract extension with Kraft, who expressed his desire to remain with the team throughout his career. His return is seen as crucial for the Packers' offensive strength, which was notably impacted by his absence last season.
