Packers' Tucker Kraft Aims for Contract Extension Before 2026 Season

Tucker Kraft, the tight end for the Green Bay Packers, has expressed his desire to secure a contract extension before the start of the 2026 NFL season. Currently, he is in the final year of his rookie contract and is recovering from a torn ACL sustained during the 2025 season.

Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst indicated that the team is eager to finalize an extension for Kraft, acknowledging the complexities involved in such negotiations. He mentioned that while the goal is to complete the deal before the season begins, the outcome remains uncertain.

In the offseason, other tight ends like Kyle Pitts and Brenton Strange signed lucrative extensions, which may influence Kraft's negotiations. Kraft had a promising season prior to his injury, recording 32 receptions for 489 yards and six touchdowns in less than eight games. He is expected to participate in team drills during joint practices, suggesting he may be ready for the Week 1 game against the Minnesota Vikings.
