Pakistan Women's Cricket Team Prepares Uniquely for Asia Cup
The Pakistan women's cricket team is preparing for the Women's Asia Cup by engaging in full T20 matches against a men's side during their training camp in Lahore. This approach aims to enhance the players' ability to handle pressure and improve their decision-making skills.
The matches were played against the Abdul Qadir Cricket Academy, featuring both teenage and senior male players. Unlike traditional practice sessions, these games followed full Twenty20 rules, providing a competitive environment for the team.
Pakistan has yet to win the Women's Asia Cup, with their best performances occurring in 2012 and 2016 when they reached the finals but lost to India. The team has faced challenges in recent tournaments, including a disappointing T20 World Cup campaign. Captain Fatima Sana emphasized that the experience gained from playing against male opponents will be beneficial in managing pressure during the upcoming tournament.
