Panthers Coach Canales Makes Defensive Coaching Changes for Player Confidence

Following a loss to the Packers, Panthers head coach Dave Canales dismissed defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero and defensive passing game coordinator Jonathan Cooley. The decision came less than 12 hours after the game, as Canales expressed a desire for his players to feel confident in their defense.

Canales emphasized the importance of his role in ensuring players are prepared and connected on the field. He stated that he had considered various factors before making the decision, which he ultimately took responsibility for, confirming it was his choice alone.

Todd Wash, previously the defensive line coach, has been elevated to the role of defensive coordinator. Canales praised Wash for his ability to connect with players and foster a strong team dynamic, expressing optimism about the team's future performance under his leadership.
