Panthers' Jonathon Brooks Misses Practice Due to Soreness, Coach Optimistic
Jonathon Brooks, the running back for the Panthers, did not participate in practice on Wednesday due to soreness. Head coach Dave Canales expressed optimism that Brooks will be available for the team's season opener.
Canales disclosed that Brooks is experiencing soreness but did not specify the exact area of discomfort. Brooks has a history of knee injuries, having undergone two ACL surgeries on his right knee. Despite this, he participated fully in training camp and played in two preseason games, totaling 17 snaps.
In his rookie season in 2024, Brooks played three games, recording 12 touches for 45 yards. He is anticipated to serve as a complement to Chuba Hubbard in the backfield, while AJ Dillon is also on the active roster. Trevor Etienne is currently on injured reserve as he recovers from an ankle injury.
